헤어용품계의 샤넬이라 불리며

이미 미국이나 셀럽 사이에서 입지도가 상당한 헤어용품

'모로칸 오일'

오늘 회사 업무 때문에

F/W뉴욕패션위크에서 모로칸오일 헤어디자이너들이

어떻게 영감을 받아 머리스타일을 연출을 했는지에 관한 보도자료를

번역을 해야 했다

  

“For the Fall 2013 collection, Carolina Herrera takes her inspiration from music. Collaborating with London-based composer Tom Hodge and producer Javier Peral, Carolina Herrera commissioned a musical score inspired by Beethoven’s Kreutzer Violin Sonata. The score, titled “Capriccio for Carolina,” possesses all the romanticism, drama and fantasy of Beethoven but done in a modern way. If the music is a soundtrack to this season, the collection embodies a strong heroine. Precisions in the cuts define the silhouettes. A hint of the 40’s is present in the sleeve shape, the tiny waists and the flirty movement of the skirts. The soft color palette of rose quartz, sandstone and tiger-eye crescendo playing to the music’s effect to rich hues of gemstone colors in ruby, sapphire, and emerald green.”

"The style emphasized whimsical contrasting elements, with soft, swirling volume at the front of the head falling into a swirled chignon sitting atop a unique, playful reverse-braid that tightly followed the shape of the head. The unique effect was created by braiding hair from bottom to top instead of the usual top to bottom technique. Though superbly classic, the style has an edgy, modern sensibility with a sense of motion within structure.

대략 이런 종류의 글이었는데

A4용지 약 4장의 글들을 번역하면서

한숨을 몇번이나 쉬었는지 모르겠다

나도 결코 아트나 감성적으로 따지자면

뒤쳐지지 않지만,

다시한번 헤어아티스트의 심오한 세계를 엿 볼 수 있었다

그러다 문득 런던에 있을때의 에피소드가 생각났다

홀본근처를 걸어가고 있었는데

TONI & GUY 미용실 앞에서

어떤 청년이 나를 붙잡으며,

자기는 체코에서 헤어아티스트가 되려고 유학 온 사람인데

오늘 하루 자신의 헤어 모델이 되어주면 안되겠냐는 것이었다

재밌겠다 싶어, 앗싸 하면서

TONI & GUY에 따라 들어갔다

머리를 하면서 체코얘기, 자기 연자친구 얘기 등

이런저런 얘기를 주고 받는 와중에 작품(?)이 완성 되었는데

그 머리는 바로

'크로와상 머리'였다

참. 심. 오. 하. 다

그래도 어째뜬 나는 기분 좋게

그 청년에게 한국에서 가져온 커플 열쇠고리같은 걸 주면서

성공하길 빈다는 말을 남기고 나왔다

이런 머리를 하고 그냥 집으로 귀가 하기가 그래서

내셔널갤러리로 가서,

우아한 귀부인 마냥 아트를 즐기다 왔다

그 청년 지금은 어디서 무엇을 하고 있을까.

가끔 TONI & GUY 앞을 지나가거나

크로와상 머리 사진을 들여볼때면

그 청년이 가끔 궁금해 진다
